Looking to the future doesn’t just mean keeping up with the latest technology though. It can also refer to sustainable design as one Austrian design studio explains on page 83. Penda is currently working on the design of a small house on a tiny plot of land in the countryside of Germany, that focuses on connecting living and working in a harmonious way. By transforming the rooftop of the Yin & Yang house into an ascending garden, the design team hopes to secure a path to food-independency for the owners.

On page 09 we look into the not too distant future to discover what trends to expect throughout the rest of the year in the world of flooring and turn to page 77 to reveal the futuristic spa that Simone Micheli has designed.
