Having worked with Vale Garden Houses in their previous home, the new owners of this 18th century former rectory wished to have another light filled space in their new home. They turned back to Vale to help them design a new conservatory and furnish the interior in a traditional style.

Architect, Román Izquierdo Bouldstridge, was commissioned to design a store front for maternity brand, Mit Mat Mama. Inspired by the feeling of walking through the pathways of the forest in the cemetery of Koyasan, the main concept was to create an atmosphere where products and architecture came together in a harmonious nature, filled with plants and natural light to improve the retail experience for Mit Mat Mama’s customers.

The hospitality sector has been undergoing a transformation for several years now, and with the ongoing quest to refine ‘guest experience’, the changes look set to continue. Tim Armitt, Managing Director at Lyndon Design, talks about the transformations taking place in the hospitality sector and how lifestyle demands are impacting on seating and furniture designs.

The porter’s chair dates back to the Middle Ages of Medieval England. Produced of high-grade leather and red velvet, these chairs were designed with gatekeepers in mind. Over the years these chairs have retained their original form, however, many have received numerous contemporary transformations to keep up with modern-day interior aesthetics.

Moving to London at the age of 18 Interior Designer, Karen Howes shared a flat with Martin Waller, the founder of interior design agency Andrew Martin. Martin has been an inspiration to Karen and mentored her throughout her career. Today, Karen Howes is at the helm of interior design firm, Taylor Howes, which works with cosmopolitan individuals.
