KEUCO designed the bathrooms in the new House 3 building, Comfort ward’s where the emphasis was on accessibility, style, and a sense of calm.
There are 20 rooms in the Comfort ward, patients can enjoy the panoramic views of Göttingen while relaxing on the roof terrace or their balconies in comfort during the recovery process. The rooms are tastefully designed with well-being in mind, furnished with KEUCO’s high quality, bathroom products that combine accessibility with a contemporary style, incorporating KEUCO’s sleek fittings, accessories, and cosmetic mirrors.
Two of KEUCO’s sophisticated interior finishes have been used in the spacious bathrooms: lustred chrome and matt black. The chrome and matt black surfaces beautifully compliment the sand-coloured tiles, and warm natural tones, accentuating the serene ambience and co-ordinating with the adjacent rooms.
The washbasin has a generous area surrounding it and the IXMO FLAT single-lever mixer tap the PLAN hair dryer, the iLook_move cosmetic mirror and the PLAN CARE sanitiser dispenser work together to create an elegant look. Within the bathroom space the matt black interior PLAN towel hooks add the finishing touch.
KEUCO's iLook_move cosmetic mirror with fivefold magnification, surrounding LED illumination and innovative hinge design enables the cosmetic mirror to be used whilst seated and it can be optimally adjusted in every direction.
Every bathroom is furnished with a PLAN stool, which is suitable for accessible wet areas enabling patients to sit comfortably in the IXMO with its innovative thermostatic mixer. The mixer combines multiple functions in the smallest of spaces with the choice of handheld and head showers. The AXESS rail system and grab bars offer a sense of security and help the occupant to stand up after showering in sitting position, whilst the chrome finish PLAN shower basket is poisoned at a height that is within easy reach and holds all the necessary toiletry products.
The convenience and safety of the patient is paramount even around the toilet. The PLAN toilet paper holder and grab bar are mounted at the ideal height whilst the premium KEUCO AXESS drop down supporting rail, designed by Studio F. A. Porsche, is located at the WC, so less-abled patients can support themselves. This minimalist rail is elegantly designed and can be dropped down when in use or folded away when not needs as it lies extremely flat against the wall and is hardly recognisable as a supporting rail.
With their clear contours and linear form KEUCO products work in combination with the bathroom furnishings in the Comfort ward of Göttingen-Weende Protestant Hospital perfectly demonstrating how visually appealing safety and convenience can be designed.
