It was the brainchild of Luigi Baroli, who won a Compasso d’Oro design award for it in 1994. Now you can order a completely customisable version of the screen to reflect your tastes and moods.
The accessory by Baleri Italia can now be personalised with the customer’s choice of vector graphics, pictures or colours, opening up an endless range of opportunities. The only limit is your imagination.
In addition to the two classic white and havana tones, it is now possible to customise Cartoons with any shade that you like. For example, you might opt for Living Coral, which Pantone has named its colour of the year for 2019. Alternatively, you could pick one colour for the front and another for the back. The choice of hues is entirely up to you.
There will also be a limited edition of just 50 Cartoons screens featuring Valentina, the most iconic character created by the Italian comic artist Guido Crepax. The sophisticated photographer with an unmistakable black bob will appear thanks to a joint project with the Crepax archives, which are run by Guido’s children Caterina, Antonio and Giacomo.
The customisation options underline the highly versatile nature of Cartoons and mean that it is even more ideally suited to catering to the varying design needs of contemporary settings. Whether it is in a bedroom or an office, a living room or an open-plan environment, Cartoons can carve out new spaces.
Cartoons is a free-standing screen made of corrugated fibreboard extracted from pure cellulose that is completely recyclable and free of pollutants.
