Tarruella Trenchs was in charge of the architectural and interior design. While conserving the building’s original structure from 1892, the practice has designed a class hotel which is timeless and sophisticated with contemporary and cosmopolitan features.
For H10 Casa Mimosa’s outdoor areas, items were chosen from outdoor furniture brand, Kettal; from the Bitta collection by Rodolfo Dordoni, Kettal Park Life by Jasper Morrison, Kettal Vieques by Patricia Urquiola, and with fabrics from Kettal’s new Terrain Fabric collection by Doshi Levien, as well as the Triconfort 1950 collection.
Kettal works with important names in international design, such as Patricia Urquiola, Rodolfo Dordoni, Hella Jongerlius, Jasper Morrison, Emiliana Design Studio and Doshi Levien. The company’s ‘raison d’être’ is the creation of timeless furniture – both functional and aesthetically expressive – which represents a contemporary culture and provides solutions to the emerging needs of modern life.
Most pieces from Kettal’s range coexist perfectly with each other for H10 Casa Mimosa’s outdoor areas. Joined by Terrain Fabric’s design, Doshi Levien – alongside rope and aluminium – are pieces by Kettal’s approved designers Jasper Morrison, Patricia Urquiola and Rodolfo Dordoni. All external spaces of H10 Casa Mimosa’s thriving hotel have been furnished with Kettal’s products – from the Park Life armchair by Jasper Morrison, Bitta sofas and deckchairs by Rodolfo Dordoni, tables from Kettal’s Vieques collection by Patricia Urquiola, Net by Kettal Studio and the 1950 collection by Triconfort.
Kettal Bitta was selected for the hotel’s external areas due to its warmth and comfort. Featuring a combination of aluminium frames with hand-braided nautical cord, alongside teak and aluminium legs, these pieces look lightweight yet cosy.
Park Life’s clean-cut profile is adaptable to a wide range of different situations. This collection was also selected for H10 Casa Mimosa’s outdoor areas. Lightweight, yet extremely durable, Park Life is easily stacked for transport and winter storage and its technical sophistication and careful consideration of ergonomics are all intended to ensure a long life, both structurally and visually.
Kettal is currently witnessing a similar tendency colour-wise, with additions such as pale pinks, blues and greens, but muted, earthy colours are this year’s most-wanted. Another trend the company is witnessing is a higher demand for indoor comfort outdoors; outdoor performance sofas that have the appearance of indoor sofas.
