The prestigious scheme will once again celebrate the very best of British interior design and will showcase the finest residential and commercial interior design projects completed across the UK.
BIID President Mathew Freeman comments: “The outstanding success of our inaugural awards resulted in the unanimous decision to make it an annual event. It creates an exciting opportunity for interior designers across the country to share their outstanding projects with the design community and receive much deserved recognition from their industry peers. The exceptional calibre of entrants from 2022 has set the bar high and we look forward to seeing what this year’s entrants have been up to.”
Designers submit their project entries based on the regional location of the project, throughout the United Kingdom. The winners will be awarded across 7 regional categories:
• North Region
• Midlands & East Anglia Region
• Central London Region
• Greater London Region
• South East Region
• South West Region
• Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland Region
All shortlisted projects for the BIID Awards will once again be visited in person by a BIID Registered Interior Designer expert assessor. In addition, there will also be two additional prizes awarded for exceptional projects. ‘Interior Design of the Year’ will be awarded to the best overall interior design project in the UK, from the regional winners. The Anna Whitehead Prize, will be awarded for the best achievement in sustainable interior design, named in honour of late BIID member and sustainability champion, interior designer Anna Whitehead.
"We've had the privilege of winning a number of awards over the years, but to take home the "Interior Design of the Year" award from The British Institute of Interior Design has been a particularly special and career affirming experience for us. It was wonderful to be able to show the judges round so they get to know how it 'feels' to be in the spaces - not just to look at the pictures. As a genuinely independent award, judged by some of the most talented and well-respected experts within the industry, the BIID award has become the gold standard to aim for, so we couldn't be more thrilled to have won two awards this year." Jennifer Hamilton, Director, The Vawdrey House.
The BIID Interior Design Awards welcomes entries from both BIID members and non-members, from both residential and commercial sectors, to allow all interior designers in the UK to enter their projects.
The winners will be announced at the prestigious BIID awards ceremony, taking place on Thursday 12th October 2023, held at the magnificent Drapers’ Hall, London. Drapers’ Hall boasts spectacular interiors which will create the perfect backdrop for the second year running to celebrate the BIID Interior Design Awards.
Proudly for the second year running, the Headline Sponsor for the BIID Interior Design Awards is superior quality wood flooring company, Havwoods.
Entries open on Thursday 5th January 2023. For further information about the BIID Interior Design Awards and information on how to enter, please visit the website below.
